Basic information
Kyyjärvi is located in northern Central Finland, on the border of South Ostrobothnia. There are two highways that run through Kyyjärvi, road 13 and highway –16 end there. The surrounding neighbour municipalities in Central Finland are Karstula and Kivijärvi and in South Ostrobothnia Soini, Perho and Alajärvi.
The population of Kyyjärvi is about 1100, of whom slightly less than half are of working age. The municipality covers an area of 469.6 km².
The main livelihoods of Kyyjärvi consist of various business activities. There are about 65 companies, the largest of which are Betset, Taipaleen teräs and the municipality of Kyyjärvi.

Teamwork, community spirit and volleyball
Kyyjärvi‘s slogan reads: Small village, big heart. This sentence is true, there is strong teamwork in this village. Residents actively participate in events and are also involved in organising them. In Kyyjärvi, volleyball in particular keeps the whole village in suspense when Kyyjärvi KyKy plays in the men‘s championship league. 1. Volleyball
KyKy–Betset plays in the men‘s volleyball championship league. The local concrete company Betset strongly supports KyKy‘s activities, for example by employing players. The team also brings internationality to Kyyjärvi, as some of the players are foreigners. At home games, there is an atmosphere at the Kyy York arena, with about 300 viewers arriving at the venue, which is a quarter of the village‘s inhabitants.
2. Memorial to the Battle of Lintulahti
One of the attractions of Kyyjärvi is the monument to the Battle of Lintulahti. In the Kyyjärvi municipal book, you can read about ghost soldiers marching and singing at the Lintulahti crossroads. According to the story, soldiers have died in the war and their souls cannot find peace, even today, according to the story, you can hear the soldiers‘ singing at the memorial. 3. HET-theatre
Founded in 2014, HET–teatteri ry consists of amateur actors from several municipalities. The theatre actively produces plays performed in the summer, which are performed at the Heikki Luoma Arena. The theatre honours the writer born in Kyyjärvi in arenas name. The HET Theatre was responsible for the construction of the arena and actively uses it in its performances.

Paletti Shopping Centre
The Paletti shopping centre could be called a landmark of the municipality of Kyyjärvi. The shopping centre is a large part of Kyyjärvi‘s service offering and also serves as a stopping place for passers-by and tourists. Paletti is located at the intersection of highways 13 and 16, so it‘s easy to pop in.
