Services include wonderful pampering massages, experiential bath ceremonies, sound journeys and various sweet nature moments: nature yoga and story-filled trips to the lands of forest spirits. Traditional massages are also available, allowing you to enter a deep state of relaxation and well-being, allowing the body to let go of stress and tension and receive accepting care and touch.

Helavalkeat at Hannunkivi -event kicks off the summer season

In the Heart of Finland, interesting events are constantly being developed in collaboration with regional companies. For example, the 2025 summer season will start with the Helavalkeat at Hannunkivi -event in Kivijärvi, which is an event developed in collaboration with regional tourism companies.

Helavalkeat has been an ancient way of celebrating the beginning of summer. The event has involved singing, playing and dancing, as well as a variety of traditions, including raising a gentle breeze and ensuring a good harvest.

This Helavalkeat -event will feature relaxation, spells, music, art, yoga, sauna, astrology and various treatments. Helavalkeat will be celebrated from 22 to 24 May 2025.

"Have a sauna ´til your heart's content"

We should also not forget the age-old healing form of treatment, the traditional Finnish sauna! The Central Finland region is part of the Central Finland Sauna Province and a special Sauna County Week is organized in the summer, but you can also go to the sauna at other times of the year. Those vacationing in Central Finland can choose from many different options for sauna experiences that suit them.

In Kinnula, you can sit on benches in the old vicarage’s sauna and occasionally take a dip in the Pappilanjoki River to cool off. In the immediate vicinity of the vicarage, there is a smoke sauna that is wonderfully immersed in the landscape. The benches on which the body calms down and the mind may travel to times gone by, to the smoke huts of Syvänmaa and the simple, rich rural life.

In Karkausmäki Guesthouse you can enjoy a natural spa, where you can relax in the wood-fired sauna and then descend into a delightfully relaxing hot tub. You can combine the sauna experience with pampering in a peat or chocolate sauna or with wonderful natural herbal foot baths.

Located near tourist destinations, Salamajärvi National Park creates a wonderful setting for enlivening your own relationship with nature.
